ADMISSION FOR
2007/2008 ACADEMIC YEAR
It is announced for the in formation of the general public that process of admission to the Islamic University College, Ghana for the
2007/2008 has commerced. Admission is open to all qualified persons irrespective of religion, race, ethnic, or geographical background
AVAILABLE PROGRAMMES
- B.A. Degree Programme in Religious Studies (Islamic Option)
- B.A. Degree Programme in Business Administration (Accounting, Banking & Finance,and
Marketing)
ADMISSION REQUIREMENT The qualifications for admission are as follows:
- Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE) of WAEC with passes in core
English, Core Mathematics, core Science and three Elective subjects. The aggregate score for the six subjects should be 24 or better Core Science may be replaced with Core Social Studies.
- General Certificate of Education of WAEC with at least credit, passes, in at least, 5
subjects (including English Language, Mathematics, Arts and a Science subject) at the Ordinary Level and 3 passes at the Advanced level, two of which should be at Grade D level. A pass at the Advanced level in General Paper is also required.
- Mature applicants with a minimum age of 30 years who do not necessarily satisfy the
criteria mentioned above but have demonstrated ability for academic work, may be considered for admission. Such applicants shall have to pass a University Entrance Examination, submit a long essay and pass an interview.
- Foreign students with qualifications equivalent to those mentioned above may be
considered for admission. They must, however, show evidence of proficiency in English Language
Entrance Examination The Entrance Examination will be held on Saturday, July 15,
2007 at the following venues:
- Accra - IUCG Campus
- Wa - Workers College
- Kumasi - Kumasi Central Mosque
- Tamale - ARD, Tamale
Application Forms Application forms are obtainable at a fee of ¢300,000 or
$100 for applicants resident outside Ghana from:
- The Registrar's Office, Islamic University College- Ghana, East Legon, near Ajiringanor,
opposite Jorgis Estates.
- The National headquarters and Regional Offices of Islamic Education Unit.
- ARD Project Office, behind the regional Co-ordinating Council Office, Tamale.
- Kumasi Central Mosque Library.
- Regional Offices of Workers College
- Regional Post Offices
- GES, Islamic Education Unit Offices (Takoradi, Bolga and Cape Coast).
Closing Date The closing date for submission of completed application form is July 17,
2007.
